Here’s an anecdote from the life of Ignatius of Loyola – founder of Jesuits (Pope Francis’ order):

“Upon encountering a Muslim who denied the divinity of Jesus, he challenged him to a duel to the death, and ran him through with his sword.”

This was the the kind of man who went on to create the world’s greatest order of tough missionaries. Cue the music to the Jesuit epic The Mission.

Can Christianity still recruit these men of fiery passion and harness their zeal for Christ and His Kingdom? Would our Church even accept such a man into the discernment process?
